CAN and its’ Executive Director, Heather McCain , ha ve identified gaps that people with disabilities experience . CAN provide s clear and concise information on community programs and services, adaptive sport and recreation , transportation and travel. Also, Universal Design and Access are explained in plain language and this creates opportunities for communities to creat e accessible and inclusive neighbourhoods. BC Disability Games Society supports th e nomination for CAN based on the valuable contributions of the organization for the disabled residents of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Heather McCain serves as a volunteer on many co mmunity boards including CAN and is a highly respected role model for people with disabilities
