The Mobilizing Justice World Café brought together transportation equity practitioners and community leaders to reimagine how public infrastructure—sidewalks, buses, trains, and bike lanes—can be designed and governed as inclusive spaces that foster belonging. While these systems often unintentionally create barriers for equity-deserving communities, this event explored how transportation planning can instead promote justice, health, and connection.
Presenters Brittany Traynor (County of Kings, Nova Scotia), Dr. Mehri Mohebbi (University of Florida), and Ryan Lo (Urban Minds) shared how they integrate social equity into transportation planning, engage youth in city-building, and cultivate belonging in public spaces.
Participants, including LET’S’ Founder-Executive Director, then joined small breakout discussions to share lived experiences and strategies for creating more equitable transportation ecosystems.
