A parent from St George’s School reached out to LET’S. The parent shared that they had attended our workshop, entitled Neurodiversity at Work, at the The BC Council of Administrative Tribunals Conference. They stated the workshop was excellent. They sit on the Parent Advisory Council and their role is to find speakers to educate the parents on relevant topics to support their sons. They felt that our talk on neurodiversity, with an emphasis on school would be a great fit for their parent community.

About the Boy-O-Boy Speakers Series
Boy-O-Boy Speakers Series is a parent education speaker series run by the SGPA (St. George Parent Advisory) in partnership with the School. The goal of this series is to provide insight and generate conversations within our community on various topics. Sessions are conducted as panel discussions and include a featured expert along with faculty members and a parent Q&A section.
The format of the Boy-O-Boy sessions are a 30-35 minute keynote followed by a panel discussion with the speaker and a couple of relevant school experts.
We worked with our contact from St George’s to create a keynote that would meet their needs. We had to come to a compromise between their focus solely being on neurodiversity and our intersectional approach that demonstrates that race, gender, sexuality, and disability are all interconnected and cannot be separated. Thankfully, we were able to create a workshop that was well received. During the Q&A, we were able to add some context regarding intersecting identities.
