LET’S presented our Disability Awareness workshop to staff at Powell River Public Library. Despite a snowfall (that slowed the town and kept people at their homes) and tech issues, the workshop was a success. We appreciated the questions that were asked, demonstrating that patrons with disabilities and how to serve them is an ongoing conversation.
In addition to the workshop for staff, LET’S provided 2 accessibility tours of the library, the 1st focusing on patrons with disabilities and the 2nd tour focusing on neurodivergent patrons. Staff and public attended. There was great conversation. Both staff and public had their awareness of disability and neurodivergent access expanded. We appreciate all those who took the time to participate.
