Low Sensory Spaces
What are Low/Reduced Sensory Spaces?
Live Educate Transform Society’s low sensory spaces are specially designed environments that welcome everyone – especially neurodivergent folks, including people with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, anxiety, depression, and other mental health experiences.
Our spaces serve as an essential safer space that supports organizers in meeting the needs of all attendees, staff, and volunteers.

Low/Reduced Sensory Spaces by Live Educate Transform Society (LET’S)
LET’S creates low or reduced sensory spaces for formal and informal events, including conferences, festivals, workshops, performances, charitable, corporate, and private gatherings.
Created and facilitated by neurodivergent people with lived expertise, these spaces offer reprieve, safety, calm, and comfort in the midst of noise, lights, crowds, and emotion. They make it possible for people to stay, to rest, recharge, regulate then return – rather than leave an event entirely.
Inside, you’ll find soft blankets, cozy seating, stuffed animals (including weighted stuffies) to cuddle. There are also fidget and stim items to explore, colouring materials to unwind with, and a wide selection of reading material.
Whether you come to take a short break, ground yourself between activities, or simply be in a peaceful shared space, the low sensory room is here for you – a gentle reminder that care and access can be woven into every part of community life.
LET’S uses a Disability Justice lens and prioritizes accessibility.

Testimonial by Emily C. participant of Clean Air Festival

[LET’S’] low sensory space service is something I wish every event had. When I was feeling overwhelmed & overstimulated at a busy event, being able to retreat to the soft, quiet low sensory space was a sigh of relief. It made me feel seen & cared for, and allowed me to stay longer as well as have a more positive experience at the event.
Later, when I was helping to put on the Clean Air Festival, [LET’S] provided a low sensory space which turned out to be a hit among both kids & adults. Several attendees even said the low sensory space was their favourite part of the event! I saw people’s eyes light up as they played with the colourful fidget/stim toys and explored the lovingly curated books.
People were also so appreciative of the dedicated space for lying down and resting with cute weighted stuffed animals. Being able to meet people’s sensory & access needs in this way was a true joy.
I would recommend this low sensory space service to any event organizer who wants attendees to feel cared for. Heather’s lived expertise & thoughtfulness shines through in every detail of the space, and will no doubt delight your attendees.

Why Provide Low/Reduced Sensory Spaces?

Low/reduced sensory spaces provide customized calming environments for people to decompress and have much needed breaks from overwhelming sensory input (noise, crowds, smells, lighting), strong emotions, and socializing – allowing guests to care for their needs while staying connected to the event community.
Providing a low sensory space is an act of care that helps neurodivergent folks feel seen.
While especially valuable for neurodivergent participants, people of all experiences benefit from having access to a quieter space.
Providing a low sensory space isn’t simply an accessibility feature – it’s a gesture of respect and care for all attendees. It is a way for organizers to demonstrate care, nurture, community connection, and ensure every person has the option to rest and rejoin when ready.
